About Jon

​

​Jon is a chartered professional with over 17 years of experience specialising in River Engineering and Flood Risk Management, both in local government as well as the private sector.  He has a passion for working with waterways to develop sustainable solutions for both the awa as well as people and communities.    

 

Jon's expertise is in flood risk management, hydraulic modelling, the design and management of river and drainage schemes and assets, as well as fluvial geomorphology.  His experience includes the assessment of environmental effects of consent applications for regional councils,  the design flood and erosion control works, and presenting evidence as an expert witness to the Environment Court and for plan changes.  Jon has also been responsible for the national implementation of a code of practice for the assessment of the performance of flood protection assets.

 

 Outside of work Jon can often be found on the golf course, or in record shops seeking out additions for his collection.
